How to Avoid Cheating and Plagiarism+American Language Writing Class Agreement
To me, cheating and plagiarizing are unacceptable. I was taught from a young age in school that these behaviors are disgraceful and shameful.
First, we should have a positive attitude toward the class. The purpose of taking this course is to improve our English and skills, not just to get high scores. Hard work is the only way to achieve our goals, so we should never turn to cheating.
Second, we need to spend enough time and energy to the class. Since we chose this course, we must take responsibility for our learning and do our best.
Lastly, if we encounter difficulties with assignments, we can seek help from a dictionary, teachers, or classmates instead of copying someone else's work.
By following these principles, we can learn well and improve ourselves fast.
I will do my own work.
· This means that I will not copy writing from another source. I
will not use work that either I or someone I know has previously submitted. I
will not pay anyone to do my work for me. I will not have a family member or
friend (or paid service!) do my work for
me. Engaging in this behavior is academic dishonesty. This behavior does not
allow me to learn or grow as a writer, as a student, or as a person.
· I acknowledge that I will complete my writing in the allotted time
during weeks 1, 2 and 6.
· I acknowledge that I will complete all of my assignments on my own (except for team work).
I will ask questions if I have any because I know that asking questions is how everyone learns.
I will follow the schedule and submit my work on time because I know that the schedule has been set up to allow me to build my skills as I go forward. If I have an issue, I will contact my teacher or my team to seek help right away.
I will use the appropriate college resources to help me achieve my goals.
I will try my best on all of my work.
I will use a growth mindset for this class.
· This means that I will make mistakes but I will try to learn from them. I may fail some assignments, but I will become a stronger writer because of this. It means that I know that I am not perfect, but I will get better with effort. It means that I will try my best, and sometimes I will be frustrated. But in the end, I will learn more than I ever thought I could.
I, JIAWEI HAN, have enrolled in this American Language writing
class, and by signing up for this class, I acknowledge that my goal is to
improve my reading, writing and communication skills. Therefore,
I agree to each of the following things listed above. I am ready for a
challenger.

easy. I’m telling you that it is going to be worth it.”
